Utah is primarily a mail-in voting state — every active voter automatically receives a ballot. Same-day registration is available at early voting and Election Day vote centers.

Registration deadline
11 days before Election Day (online/mail). Same-day registration available during early voting and on Election Day at vote centers with ID and proof of residency.
Early voting
In-person early voting begins 14 days before Election Day and ends the Friday before.
Absentee / mail-in
Every active registered voter automatically receives a mail ballot. Ballot must be postmarked by the day before Election Day or dropped off by 8:00 PM Election Day.
ID requirements
Photo ID required at vote centers. Mail ballots use signature verification.
Election Day hours
Vote centers open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Mountain Time. If you are in line at 8:00 PM, you can vote.
