Delaware offers 10 days of in-person early voting and same-day registration at early voting sites. The standard registration deadline is the 4th Saturday before a general election.

Registration deadline
4th Saturday before a general election. Same-day registration is available at early voting sites.
Early voting
10 days of in-person early voting beginning the Friday 10 days before Election Day and ending the Sunday before.
Absentee / mail-in
Application must be received by noon the day before Election Day. Ballot must be received by 8:00 PM Election Day.
ID requirements
ID requested but not strictly required — you can sign an affidavit of affirmation.
Election Day hours
Polls open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time. If you are in line at 8:00 PM, you can vote.

Extra info:

  • Same-day registration is available at any in-person early voting location.
  • Delaware does not currently allow no-excuse absentee voting by mail; a permitted reason is required.
  • Acceptable ID includes Delaware DL/ID, US passport, military ID, or any government/employer/school ID.
